Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc, like Merlot, has traditionally been a part of the blend used to create Bordeaux red wines. The climate in Virginia seems agreeable to this grape variety and many notable vintages have been produced. The increasing popularity of this wine is helping to boost the reputation of premium wine producers in Virginia.
As a separate varietal it is similar to Cabernet Sauvignon, but has less acidity and a lighter body. The typical flavors found in Cabernet Franc are of black cherry, currant and berries. It is not uncommon to detect a hint of pepper in this variety. Will age very well.

Chambourcin
Chambourcin has often been considered the best of the French-American hybrid grape varieties of our time. It is a prolific grape that makes a medium bodied wine with a ruby red color.
Surprise! Reminiscent of a port. A very luscious sweet red, so balanced that dry wine drinkers love it too – the perfect holiday treat. Try it mulled (warmed) with cinnamon and cloves. Great with dark chocolate! A wonderful after dinner drink!

Chardonel
The quintessential picnic wine. 'Chardonel' grape resulted from the crossing of Seyval and Chardonnay in 1953 at Cornell University. The wine offers an interesting combination of flavors from each parent grape variety. Every vintage year can hold surprises in how those flavors and aromas develop. This vintage is fruity and off-dry, with a provocative spicy banana aroma. Try it with pizza or Asian cuisine.

Chardonnay
Chardonnay is a classic white wine grape grown all around the world but originally made famous in the Burgundy and Champagne regions of France. Our Chardonnay is crisp, fresh dry white wine with apple and pear aromas. This wine is stainless-steel aged for a clean, crisp finish. Excellent dinner wine with a variety of cheeses, and a superb dinner wine with salmon and chicken.
|
Chardonnay Reserve
Chardonnay takes oak well. Our Reserve Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in French and American oak barrels for about six months. This Chardonnay is put through a malolactic fermentation process which tempers the crispness and brings out a rich, buttery taste. Our version of this popular wine is appropriate for all occasions. The apple aroma, smoky vanilla taste and the buttery finish are supported by a lively acidity. A perfect compliment for fried seafood or seafood in a lighter sauce.

Divino
Our 2005 version of our Governor’s Cup Winning Wine. This wine is made using the Chardonel grape in an ice-wine style, which concentrates the sugars and amazing pear and lychee flavors. Pair it with cheeses, cheesecake or other desserts. It is an excellent after dinner treat.

Gewürztraminer
Very aromatic nose, with floral, spicy aromas and sweet tropical fruit flavors. Medium body with exotic rose, jasmine and orange blossom notes and sweet, ripe fruit balanced by light yet crisp acidity. Gewürztraminer is becoming a new classic pairing for Asian cuisine. Because the dish has so many flavors and contrasting textures you need a wine with an abundance of taste to stand up to it. The Gewürztraminer does just that. It washes away the salt and spice with exotic flavours and readies your mouth for your next bite.

Hanover
A soft supple semi-dry red table wine. This blend of Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin and Chancellor, is a local favorite. Chambourcin adding that tart fresh raspberry flavor, Chancellor with a smokey cherry character and Cab Franc adding structure and rich bold flavors of black cherry and cassis.
|
Hanover White
Sweet, luscious blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Seyval Blanc, Cayuga and Muscat with a touch of sweet apricot in the bouquet. Serve it all year long with soft cheese, light meals or desserts! Try it with sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie!
|
Merlot
The Merlot grape is low in tannins and makes wine that matures faster and is softer in texture. Merlot is often blended with bold reds in order to soften the strong tannic acids and allow the wines to be consumed much earlier. Select Merlots can have long aging potential but most are ready to consume in 4 to 8 years.
Our Merlot is well balanced with a rich and silky texture. Big cherry nose, round tannins – ready for your finest meal a favorite guests. Since it is a medium bodied wine it really shines when paired with game birds, veal or pork. It is great for just sipping too.

Montpelier
A remarkably refreshing sweet wine with a delicate hint of cherries. Delicious by itself or with almost any food. Match it up with salads, pizza, Cajun or spicy seafood dishes and of course desserts. Excellent with strawberry shortcake!

Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot is a type of red wine grape, principally used in classic Bordeaux blends. It ripens much later than the other varieties in Bordeaux, often too late, so it fell out of favor in its home region. When it does ripen, it is added in small amounts to add tannin, color and flavor to the blend. It has attracted attention among winemakers in the New World, where it ripens more reliably and has been made into single varietal wine.
When young its aromas have been likened to banana and pencil shavings. Strong tones of violet and leather develop as it matures.

Rad Red
A blend of seven different grape varietals. Smooth in character, soft in tannins and acids with fruity aromas and berry flavors. Although Rad Red does not have the pedigree of our Cabernets and Merlot you will find it delightful when you want a light, semi-dry easy drinking red. We named this wine in memory of our dear friend Johnny Radebaugh (1942-1998). A portion of the proceeds from each bottle will be donated to cancer reasearch.

Syrah
A lush and spicy red wine with bold flavors of dark fruit and berries, earthy and smoky aromas.
|
Vidal Blanc
Vidal is one of the most popular French-American Hybrids in Virginia. Its popularity comes from the beauty of the long amber clusters of vibrant grapes and the zesty flavor of the wine it makes. Our version is fruity, off-dry wine has a beautiful, unripe peach flavor. Refreshing by itself or with spicy foods.
