A True Gentleman's Port, Sonoma County
A True Gentleman's Port is named in honor of our friend, advisor, and much loved family member, Dick Klein. He loved life, his friends, his family and the camaraderie of all occasions. In the Ports of Portugal, there is a legally defined set of allowable grape varieties that reflects the long tradition of the region. Here in Sonoma County we believe that the best grapes for making Port wine are those that have great fruit flavor, a fine depth of character, and excellent color. For this release we have chosen Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Sirah. The combination of these three varietals, from five of our best vineyards, results in a wine with balanced sweetness, powerful flavors, and an unctuous texture that glides on the palate, and lingers. Because of its sweet and special nature, Port is generally considered a dessert wine. It can easily be enjoyed by itself, or with a selection of cheeses, nuts, or even dark chocolate.

Alden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
Forward dark berry flavors with accents of chocolate, earth, and bold, spicy oak give this powerful wine a lot to offer for near term enjoyment, but classic mountain fruit structure will provide the patient with plenty of reward over the next 5 to 10 years.
|
Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Sonoma County
Full bodied and richly textured, this cabernet displays intense aromas and flavors of black currant, sandalwood, white pepper and cocoa, with a smooth, lingering finish. If you have access to a cool dark place, lay some bottles of this Reserve down for up to a decade and patience will reward you!
|
Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander's Crown Vineyard
Blackberry, red currant and fresh earth are core flavors with the Crown, and are accented by hints of mint and herbs. 20 months in primarily French oak adds a subtle toasty spice component, and both rounds and softens this elegant, Bordeaux styled Cabernet into a graceful expression of the varietal that will entreat you to enjoy another glass. Drink this classic “collector’s” Cabernet Sauvignon over the next 4 to 8 years.

Chalk Hill Estate Bottled Chardonnay
Barrel fermentation in new and seasoned French oak added toasty vanilla and spice complexities, and during 10 months of barrel ageing, we regularly stirred the “lees” in barrel, which gives a certain fullness and creamy texture on the palate. Encouraging malolactic fermentation added additional character, and in the glass the wine is both creamy and crisp, with abundant fruit character, mineral, and toasty oak flavors. This medium to full-bodied chardonnay possesses beautiful balance and texture while displaying bright citrus, tropical and green apple flavors and delightful natural acidity. Enjoy over the next 1-3 years.

Chardonnay Reserve Russian River Valley

|
Charlotte's Home Estate Bottled Sauvignon Blanc
Light, crisp, and highly aromatic, the warmer climate Alexander Valley fruit gives the wine ripe pear and melon character, while the ocean cooled Russian River fruit offers citrus, mineral, and traditional herbaceous qualities.

Reserve Pinot Noir Jane's Vineyard Russian River Valley
The Russian River Valley is well established as one of the premier pinot noir growing regions in the world, and we have been growing pinot noir here for over thirty years. Jane's Vineyard, a more recent planting of pinot noir named in honor of Tom Klein's mother, provided an incredible opportunity to take advantage of the newest technology, nursery material and other modern viticultural advances.

Sonoma County Chardonnay
We barrel fermented about 70% of this wine, and aged that portion in barrel for 5 months, offering the wine a touch of brown spice and vanilla, while cold fermenting the remainder to maximize a fresh fruit-forward character. Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity, and on the palate, pear and pineapple with spice and refreshing acidity will have you coming back for another glass. Enjoy this lively chardonnay now and over the next couple of years.
