Angelica
This very unique blend of fresh Muscat juice and highest-quality Carneros pot-still brandy has begun to gather a real following. Though medium sweet and generally regarded as a dessert wine, many people report that they enjoy our Angelica chilled before dinner as well.
Carneros Chardonnay
Chardonnay has sweet, moderately intense aromas of pear and green apple that give the wine a most inviting start, and it follows with deep, equally attractive flavors that are long on rich and emphatic fruit.
Carneros Pinot Noir
Ripe, round and seductive, this Pinot from our vineyard in the Carneros region has fleshy plum and blackberry flavors shaded with hints of sweet exotic spice. Another year in bottle is all that’s necessary to move the flavors effortlessly into its long and already elegant finish.
Carsi Vineyard Chardonnay
Smooth, rich and polished, this elegant, single-vineyard bottling reflects our best efforts with the Chardonnay grape. It has finesse, rich color and good toast, with deep flavors and a smooth, lingering finish.
Cuvée Rouge (Gamay Rouge Champagne)
Gamay fans love this sparkler, but so do Champagne lovers. It’s got that familiar strawberry-like fruitiness but is lively and dry with a deep salmon color and a crisp pleasant finish.
David Béjar Reserve Chardonnay
Only the very best lots from Carsi Vineyard and Henry Ranch were used to produce our finest Chardonnay in years. Combining the richness of abundant oak and lees with the vibrancy of vital apple and citrus fruitiness, this is a classic Chardonnay, broad on the palate, but always lively and bright. Eminently drinkable now, it will expand and lengthen as it develops over the next three to four years
Dry Johannisberg Riesling
Drier than most Rieslings, this Johannisberg is only slightly sweet, with peaches, tangerines and citrus blossoms filling the nose and a light, delicate fruitiness lingering on the palate. Great to sip or pair with seafood, light meats and cheeses.
Dry Muscat
Another wine that sold out before Christmas, our Dry Muscat, fresh from the 2005 vintage, has gained quite a following, and quickly. We use the seductive Muscat of Alexandria grape, but make it in a drier, crisper style, similar to our Dry Riesling, and one that welcomes pairing with many foods, including seafood, poultry and veal.
Duarte Vineyard "Old Vine" Zinfandel
Wild berry and crushed peppercorn abound in this spicy Contra Costa County Zinfandel from Portuguese-planted 25- to 35-year-old vines. It’s a gutsy wine with good structure and lean dry tannins. Drink now through 2008.
Gamay Rouge
Hardly a “blush” wine, our Gamay Rouge (“Gamay” for the grape, “Rouge” for the color) is a fire engine-red rosé loaded with ripe strawberry fruit and enough body to sidle up to barbecued ribs.
Henry Ranch Merlot
Bold, complex and concentrated, this Carneros Merlot has a mix of red currant, plum and cherry fruit flavors that are intense and focused and a satisfying finish that is dry and cedary. Enjoy through 2010.
Howell Mountain Zinfandel
From head-trained vines on Beatty Ranch high above the Napa Valley comes this distinctive Howell Mountain Zin with characteristic wild berry fruit blended with cracked black peppercorn framed in a medium-bodied, almost-ready-to-drink style with a hint of sweet vanilla in the finish for good measure. Enjoy now through 2009.
Madeira
“I may almost say that I had yet to taste a good Madeira until I arrived in the united States,” remarked British writer Frederick Marryat in 1839. If only he could taste V. Sattui’s historic Madeira and see how much further we have come. Still the oldest, traditionally-made Madeira wine produced in the U.S., it is a brandy-laced, tawny port-like, after-dinner wine crafted in the style reminiscent of Madeiras made in the colonies by English settlers in the early 1800s and, today, on the island of Madeira itself.
Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
A rich, plush, sophisticated wine from an always-excellent vineyard source, this Morisoli Cabernet has great intensity and concentration, offering layers of black cherry, melted chocolate and cedar. While it shows a little restraint and nuance on the finish, another year or so in the bottle will result in happy, lip-smacking enjoyment for several years.
Muscat
Rich and luscious, with perfumed floral and musky aromas, our Muscat is a beautiful nectar-like sipping wine, great with any dessert or just by itself. Like eating ripe grapes right off the vine.
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Nearly forty percent of this sleek and smooth blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is from Preston Vineyard, which may explain why it has such complex, gravelly flavors of tobacco, cedar and sage, and a suppleness usually found only in our single-vineyard Cabernets. Drink now through 2011.
Napa Valley Chardonnay
This just-released Napa Chardonnay is medium-bodied and rich, with vanilla and butterscotch in the middle palate, turning towards mango and passion fruit, before ending with a bright, lemony finish. It’s a well-balanced, food-friendly Chardonnay that is ready to drink.
Napa Valley White
A blend of mostly Riesling and Muscat, this slightly sweet white is a great party or picnic wine. It matches well with so many foods, it’s refreshing to drink and it commands a modest price.
Off-Dry Johannisberg Riesling
Many people believe that V. Sattui sets the standard for California Johannisberg Riesling After the 2004 Off-Dry took four Gold Medals and “Best of Class” last year, we have high expectations for the just-released ‘05. Picked a little later, it’s a perfect sipping wine—delicate, supple and rich, yet fruity and balanced enough to stand on its own.
Prestige Cuvée
Dry and smooth, with lovely Chardonnay creaminess, this blanc de blanc made in the traditional méthode champenoise, has tiny pinpoint bubbles, a nice, green-gold glint and a very seductive and yeasty, exotic mushroom quality.
Preston Vineyard Cabernet
Here’s a Cabernet that will grow on you, revealing both rich and subtle flavors that expand on the palate. Built around a core of ripe plum and wild berry, it picks up hints of tobacco and mineral from its Rutherford breeding, and its finish is long and complex with an overall elegance that has resulted in TEN GOLD MEDALS. Drink now through 2012.
Quaglia Vineyard Zinfandel
A mix of ripe, zesty, flashy blackberry and raspberry fruit with an underlying sense of elegance and grace, this old-vine Zin from Ray Quaglia’s St. Helena vineyard finishes with a touch of herb, green olive and cedary oak. Drink now through 2007.
Rosato D' Sangiovese
Finally, a dry Rosé! Made from 100% Valdigue, this crisp, delicate aperitif/luncheon wine has a deep red color, with cherry and plum aromas and hints of strawberry and cranberry. It’s a very seductive and flavorful rosé, extremely well-balanced, perfect before dinner or with light foods.
Sattui Family Cabernet Sauvignon
A very pretty medium-bodied blend of Cabernet (92%) and Merlot (8%) with a richness and depth found in wines three or four times its price. Spicy plum aromas, juicy flavors of black cherry and mint, and tannins so soft you can enjoy this wine tonight.
Sattui Family Chardonnay
This bright, appley Chardonnay, two-thirds Henry Ranch, one-third Carsi Vineyard, has aromas of honeydew melon and almond, with flavors of ripe pear, earth and white pepper.
Sattui Family Chardonnay
This is a great value Chardonnay bursting with fruity aromas of crisp apples and ripe pear, and part barrel fermentation in French Oak gives it a distinct creaminess in the finish.
Sattui Family Red
Medium-bodied and ready to drink, this chewy Zin will stand up to a lot of foods. Its finish is smooth, with almost non-existent tannins, so you can drink it tonight without having to wait years to soften. And you can sip it by the glass, without food, so it’s the perfect party red. Drink now through 2007.
Sauvignon Blanc
A second, “Napa Valley” blend of Sauvignon Blanc is released this spring to complement our single-vineyard bottling, achieving a more fruit-forward style. Containing 15% Semillon, it has aromas of grapefruit and key lime, with succulent fruit flavors of ripe fig and honeydew.
