Round Peak Vineyards

Round Peak Vineyards Round Peak Vineyards is located in the rolling hills of the Yadkin Valley in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visitors to the vineyard will see Fisher’s Peak, Saddle Mountain, and Round Peak, for which the vineyards are named. The vineyards sit at an ideal elevation of 1300 feet. The rocky soil is similar to the soil of European vineyards. The rolling hills provide good drainage, and the climate is conducive to growing good French and Italian varieties. Nine acres of vines produce Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. In April, 2004, three additional acres were planted to Chardonnay, Viognier, and the Brunello clone of Sangiovese.
