Bommarito Estate Almond Tree Winery

Bommarito Estate Vineyards started planting Norton and St. Vincent vines in 1996, completing a four-year project with three acres of prized Vignoles. We now have a total of 10 acres. Almond Tree Winery was established in 2000. It is a small estate winery producing 1,000 to 1,500 gallons of exceptional red and white wines. The serene setting and view are pleasures we feel you, as our guest, will enjoy. You may sit on the outside patio or enjoy the fireplace inside the winery. Call for information, and reserve a piece of wine country.

Almond Tree Blush
A blush wine made from St Vincent grape with a touch of Vignoles for added fruitiness. You'll find flavors and aromas of strawberry, wild cherry and watermelon. There is a slight sweetness on the palate but the finish is crisp and dry. This wine goes well with spicy foods such as Thai, Cajun or Mexican.

Almond Tree Red
A semi-sweet blend of St Vincent and Norton aged in American Oak. Almond Tree Red has lots of cherry flavor from St Vincent and a nice peppery spiciness from the Norton. The residual sugar creates a fruit forward wine and the crisp acidity produces a long and dry finish. This is our signature wine and our best seller.

American Oak Norton
Aged 2 years in American Oak barrels, nice spicy, pepper flavors with a hint of current, quite similar to the characteristics of a Shiraz. We are limited in supply of this wine, minimal cases left.

French Oak Norton Reserve
This Norton wine was aged over 3 years in French Oak, which infused a nice vanilla toast, but still has characteristics of a Norton, with tannic flavors, a hint of cherry or fruitiness. Nice smooth finish, and will do very well if laid down for years.

Missouri Red Port
This is a traditional full bodied, rich sweet port made from a blend of Norton, Chambourcin & St Vincent grapes. Swirl in your mouth to experience the release of the bramble fruit and cherry. Swallow and experience the long soft finish. Sip and the experience begins again. This port pairs well with dark chocolate, dates and cream cheese or cheesecake. Try it with a small slice of Pate as an appetizer.

Rose'
Primarily St Vincent grape with the wild cherry and woodland aromas of St Vincent. Background notes of cinnamon and raspberry are revealed in the mouth. The wine is off dry with a soft smooth finish and pairs very well with pork.

St Vincent
Our biggest and boldest dry red wine. 2 years of aging in American Oak gives the wine a smoky character. You'll find cherry flavors as well as the smoke and spice. This wine is slightly carbonated to bring out the fruit flavors and should be served chilled. Think of Italian Lambrusco without the sugar. This wine is great with pizza or spaghetti. It is also excellent served mulled or as a Sangria.

White Solera Port
This is a blend of 3 years harvest of Vignole. The finished wine is fortified with grape brandy; it is considered a very light dry and fruity port, with a hint of citrus.

Norton Wine Review: We were most fortunate to get the last of the 2005 Norton American Oak Norton. But if that were not good enough, we also picked up Bommarito's grand Norton port. How much did I like this, - well, I didn't share it with friends or relatives. The Bommarito Norton wine is a good Missouri standard, but I have to admit that we were turned off by the attempts of the father/owner/vintner who tried to over educate us on his wines and his superior vintner techniques not utilized by neighboring vineyards. Once I got over that, we could get back to the reason we visited, - a good Missouri Norton wine.

Best Norton in Missouri. Nice quaint boutique winery. Had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the Vitner and daughter of the owner. It was a pleasure learning about the history of their winery, very warm and friendly atmosphere. They really enjoy what they do and it shows with the customer service we were given. The wines are outstanding and so complex. Missouri Red Port was our favorite.
