A deep mulberry colour with plenty of blackberry, plum and cedar character. Full-bodied, with a dense and ripe palate, plummy fruit, super-elegant tannins and a long finish.

Intricate layers of raspberry and blackberry, hints of cedar, truffle and chocolate linger in the long finish. Fine, ripe tannins add structure and balance to the lush fruit. This wine will develop additional complexity over three to five years. If enjoying this wine in its youth, we suggest decanting prior to serving. The blend for the 2003 Oculus is 47% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvingon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot.
