Cabernet Franc
A soft, medium-bodied wine with deep fruit and oak vanillin flavors, low tannins and a long pleasant finish. Cabernet Franc is a French grape included in the blends of many wines throughout Europe. Has an affinity for mushrooms.
|
Malbec
TMV Malbec is inspired by the "black wine" of Cahors in southwest France. The Cahors grapes, Malbec and Tannat, were favorites of Ernest Hemingway. Deep in color, Malbec is traditionally paired with cassoulet.
|
Norton
Discovered in Virginia, Norton is America's best red wine grape, and it thrives on the sunny slopes of Tiger Mountain. Norton is a dry, crisp wine with plum and cherry aromas. Great for picnics or outdoor cooking of ribs, chicken or chops.
|
Petit Manseng - Burton Blanc
This crisp, tangy white wine has a bouquet of fresh green apples. It is made from an ancient grape that thrives in Southwest France--and at Tiger Mountain! Elegant with light cheeses or seafood.
|
Rabun Red
A distinctive blend of four traditional French grapes and the American Norton. Rabun Red is a medium-bodied, peppery wine that contains hints of blackberry and cherry. Enjoy with pasta, portabella mushroom or game dishes, grilled meats and ethnic foods.
|
Tannat
Made from the French Tannat grape, this exceptional wine was barrel-aged for 23 months to develop its multiple layers of dark berry flavors and soft tannins. It is fashioned after Madiran wine of Southwest France, where is traditionally enjoyed with lamb and beef.
|
Touriga Nacional
The dominant grape in fine vintage ports, the Portuguese Touriga Nacional grape makes a dry, smooth wine with a rich mulberry aroma. Superb with grilled veal chops and mushroom sauce or braised pork with apples.
|
Viognier
A dry white wine with an elusive bouquet of apricot, peach and honeysuckle, Viognier complements grilled fish, especially salmon, trout and shrimp. Serve with goat cheese on toast, or on a summer evening with cold apricot soup.

Norton Wine Review: Tiger Mountain Vineyards has made an effort to introduce into the northeast region of the state Norton wine and two other Norton blends (Mountain Cyn and Rabun Red). Because we live fairly close by, we made the trip here twice in three years to re-evaluate our original thoughts of their Norton wines. Any wine should have tasted better with the good local cheeses offered during the tasting, but our second trip substantiated our first visit’s disappointment of wines with a new and unrefined character. An additional complaint is both times our courteous servers / sales personnel had truly no clue what they were serving.
