After 47 years nestled under a century old grape arbor in South Amana, in the year 2001, Ackerman Winery relocated to the main village of Amana. Here we are proud to offer our guests a short self-guided tour of our cellar, where 14,000 gallons of wine are produced, aged and bottled each year. Iowa grown Dandelion, Rhubarb and Apple are among the 21 varieties of unique fruit, berry and vegetable wines that are available to sample daily. Our bright, spacious, handicapped accessible gift shop is a delight for any shopper. We carry a wide variety of quality gifts including a complete line of authentic German beer steins, wine glasses, a wide variety of wine accessories, American made stained glass artwork, table linens, sun-catchers, imported wooden boxes and much, much more. We have one of the largest collections of wine racks you will find anywhere with prices ranging from $10 to $300. Continue your experience by visiting the Heritage Wine and Cheese Haus located right next door. Since 1982, the Heritage Wine and Cheese Haus has offered premium, award winning wines made and bottled by the same third generation wine makers that operate Ackerman Winery. In addition to wine tasting, guests are welcome to sample from over 30 domestic and imported cheeses and locally made summer sausage. Here we also offer a wide variety of jams, jellies, preserves, mustards, candies, mixes and hard to find gourmet items that will tempt almost any palate. Browse in our large comfortable gift shop which features an extensive selection of wind chimes, porcelain dolls, garden items, baskets, kitchen gadgets and metal collectable signs - all offered at very competitive prices.
