What is special about the grapes in every bottle of Renteria wines is the source, the terroir. The vineyards are in prized appellations such as St. Helena, Stag’s Leap, Carneros, Mount Veeder, the Russian River and the unique Wooden Valley region. All Renteria vineyards are small, hand tended vineyards, many planted by Salvador and tenderly handed down to Oscar. The Q Hill vineyard is a perfect example of the quality and lineage of Renteria grapes; planted and dry farmed by Salvador in 1973, this small, steep vineyard produces only one half ton of intense fruit per acre. The flavor, true to its environment, has big, bright, concentrated fruit with gently muscular tannins. The Renterias have cared for Q Hill for over 27 years, from initial vineyard development to coaxing the outstanding fruit remaining from this old and unfailing vineyard.

Brenda's Vineyard, located in the Stag's Leap District, sets the tone for this wine with its characteristic silky texture, grace and balance. The Julianna and Amador vineyards in Pope Valley each lend rich ripe cherry fruit typical to this warmer microclimate. Q Hill vineyard, located in Wooden Valley is the anchor with its firm tannic structure and black fruit flavors.

Q Hill Cabernet Sauvignon
Q Hill has produced Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional intensity for almost 25 years. The rich extract, concentration and deep tannic texture are the result of low yields and hillside location. Powerful black fruits such as black cherry, plum and cassis are layered with leather, spice and firm structure.

RENTERIA Pinot Noir Buena Tierra
Classic Pinot Noir aromas of rose petal, dark cherry and berries. Mouth feel is soft and velvety with silky tannins that produce an elegant and lengthy finish.

RENTERIA Pinot Noir Knittel Vineyard Carneros
This Pinot Noir has enjoyed the benefits of an ideal growing site for Pinot Noir, the complexity of 5 different clones, cool temperatures and shallow clay soils. Gentle vinification and fermentation in small open top fermentors have created a beautiful wine layered with the ethereal flavors of wild strawberries and raspberries and a wonderful earthy, leather-like element. Drinking beautifully now, this wine will cellar well for up to 5 years.
