Located in the heart of historic Hyattsville MD, Franklins is Prince Georges County’s first microbrewery, and the only combination restaurant, brewery, and toy store in the world. Franklins is a gathering place with deep roots in the Hyattsville community.
In 1992, Mike and Debra Franklin purchased the former Hyattsville Hardware Co, a Hyattsville institution located on a dying strip of route 1, and opened Franklins General Store & deli, helping to recapture the spirit of bustling community activity. The deli soon became a popular lunch spot, and eventually outgrew its limited space. In 2002, Franklins closed the deli portion of the store, and opened a 200 seat brewpub, and doubled the size of the store.

Anarchy Ale
Charles’ signature brew is made differently with each incarnation and is usually one of our hoppiest offerings. 6% A.B.V.

Bombshell Blonde
Our lightest offering, this Kolsch style ale is brewed with just a touch of wheat and Tettnanger hops. 4% A.B.V.

Private I.P.A.
A traditional British-style India Pale Ale with great hop bitterness, this is one of our strongest regular offerings at about 7% A.B.V.

Sierra Madre Pale Ale
This west-coast style ale is heavily hopped with Cascade hops and similar in style to Sierra Nevada pale ale. 6% A.B.V.

Twisted Turtle Pale Ale
This English-style pale ale is a Franklins favorite, with Crystal and Pale Ale malts and Magnum and Yakima Goldings Hops. 6.5% A.B.V.

Wrecked Sleigh
Santa had a few too many of these and had an accident. You would drink too if you had his job. Anyway, it’s hoppy and stong so be more careful than santa. Enjoy and happy holidaze! 8.5% A.B.V.
