Cardinal Point Vineyard & Winery
Family owned and operated, Cardinal Point Vineyard and Winery lies in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge, in the shadow of Afton Mountain. Years ago, while stationed in the small city of Bad Kreuznach, Germany on the banks of the Nahe River, Paul and Ruth Gorman discovered a passion for German wines — Spatleses, Rieslings, Ausleses, all crafted with care in the little vineyards surrounding the town. It was then and there that they decided to add their own vineyard to their retirement plans. Hours of Operation: Wednesday through Monday, 10:00 to 5:30, Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter

A6
54% Viognier, 46% Chardonnay. A fruit forward, dry white, the '04 A6 is a bigger wine than previous vintages. There’s bold fruit aroma up front, with loads of fleshy fruit flavors through the mid-palate. More tactile mouth feel than ever before, and an oaken crispness at the finish. This wine will work well paired with a rich, creamy mushroom dish or cassoulet.
Aubaine
Fresh fruit aromas, crisp acids, clean finish. Stainless steel fermented and aged Chardonnay.
Barrel Select Chardonnay
Crisp oak, with a buttery mouthfeel and notes of citrus mid-palate. A perfect accompinament to grilled tuna or vegetables.
Cabernet Franc
Bright, medium weight red, with nice berry flavors mixed with mineral tones. Tannins are subtle; present but easy. Pair with roast chicken or salmon.
Cabernet Franc Reserve
This wine is gorgeous; rich, dark, and full-bodied. It is drinking nicely now, but will get even better. Excellent tannins work well with lamb or a beef filet.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Well integrated oak, lovely cedar on the nose, and dark fruit on the palate.
Excellent now, but will be better with age.
Meritage
Toasty oak nose and broad, velvety mid-palate highlight this mostly Cabernet Franc/Bordeaux blend. Satisfying red, matches well with grilled recipes, but will intrigue red wine lovers all on its own.
Nouveau
The winemaker used Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to create this lovely, fun and fruity wine, which will appeal to red and white wine drinkers alike. It’s a great sipping wine, but will pair perfectly with Turkey and cranberries at your holiday table, or with those sandwiches made with the leftovers the next day.
Quattro
An aromatic blend of Riesling, Gewürtzraminer, Viognier, and Traminette. Good acidity keeps this sweeter wine balanced, and it is divine with a little blue cheese or a rich paté.
Riesling
Zesty acid and just enough sweetness play together beautifully in this vibrant Riesling. Super before, during, and after supper. Try pairing with a friend and/or Asian cuisine.
Rockfish Red
Cabernet Franc-based table wine. Fruit forward, with soft tannins, this is, already, our favorite summer red! Put a little chill on it and serve it with everything from pasta to burgers, even salmon.
Tess
A dessert style wine made of Riesling and Gewürtzraminer (6% residual
sugar), this wine (sold by the half-bottle or 375 ml) exhibits flavors
of apricot with hints of spice, citrus and almonds on the finish.
Viognier
Our first varietal Viognier, this wine is lush with tropical fruit aromas, and is well-balanced with just a touch of sweetness. A perfect compliment to spicy and fried foods
