Bordeleau Winery

Vineyard owner and winemaker Thomas R. Shelton has been growing grapes since 1999 on his Eden, MD property which borders the pristine Wicomico Creek. It is the first licensed vineyard in Wicomico County. The name Bordeleau - “edge of the water” - was chosen to reflect not only the distinctive environment where our grapes are hand-harvested, but also the favorable climate similarities to the Bordeaux region of France. Currently, 10 different varieties of grapes are under cultivation on 10+ acres.

Directions
From Rt. 50 Business in Salisbury, just past the draw bridge, turn right onto Mill Street. Stay straight onto Camden Avenue and continue until Allen Road splits off to the right. Stay on Allen Road until the stop sign. Turn right onto Collins Wharf Road and next left onto Noble Farm Road. Follow road to sharp left, then to winery on right.

Cabernet Sauvignon
A beautiful, medium-bodied ruby red wine with cherry, raspberry, tobacco and spice undertones. Its tannins are soft and the texture smooth.

Chambourcin
A terrific, crisp, medium-bodied red wine which has produced flavors of cherry and spices complemented by its malolactic fermentation. A wonderful tartness lingers over the finish. Chardonnay
A medium-bodied white wine with a soft citrus and vanilla nose created through malolactic fermenta- tion. Rich, buttery undertones provide a wonderful citrus finish. Best served just slightly chilled.

Merlot
A fruity, medium-bodied red wine aged in oak for 12 months. The result is subtle undertones of black cherry, spice and vanilla, with a rich and long finish.

Sauvignon Blanc
A traditionally-made Sauvignon Blanc with a bouquet of grapefruit, gooseberry and grassy notes. Has a smooth, acidic finish. Best served chilled.

Vidal Blanc
A sweet, white table wine made from primarily the Vidal grape. Has a citric nose with hints of orange peel and tangerine and a wonderful acidic finish. A great summer wine! Best served very chilled.

Wicomico Red
A sweet, red table wine blended from Chambourcin and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Subtle notes of spices, cherries, and peppers. Best served chilled.
