Located less than a mile from scenic Heron Pond and Wildcat Bluff, this area is known as the largest remaining tupelo-cypress swamp in Illinois, with some trees reaching heights in excess of 200 feet. This internationally famous wilderness area, with rare and endangered plant and animal species, is easily accessible. The nearby winery offers a peaceful place to relax after hiking or cycling with a variety of wines made from locally grown French hybrid grapes ranging from white to red and sweet to dry. In addition, the gift shop offers locally made handcrafted items. Hours: Monday through Saturday -10 a.m. to 6 p.m..

Directions
Located off Route 45, 5 miles south of Vienna. Turn right (west) onto Belknap Rd. Proceed 1.3 miles and turn left (south) onto Forman Lane. If traveling from Metropolis, head north on Route 45 about 17 miles and follow above directions. Off Interstate 24, exit # 16 west to Vienna and follow the above directions.
