Lexington Valley Vineyard

Lexington Valley Vineyard A new family owned and operated Virginia Farm Winery producing handcrafted wines from French-American hybrid varietals. Our winery and website are still under construction. Watch for us to open to the public in the summer of 2007. We hope to see you then! Lexington Valley Vineyard is a family operated vineyard and winery located on 81 rolling, scenic acres in the Shenandoah Valley ten minutes Northwest of Lexington, Virginia. The first planting of Norton grapes was completed in March, 2000. Norton (sometimes called Cynthiana) is a Virginia original first described around 1835. Norton is believed to be a naturally occurring cross between an American wild grape and a French cultivar. The wine from this grape is a deeply colored, dry red with a very full-bodied flavor. If you like a complex dry red wine like Merlot, we highly recommend you try a bottle of Norton. Norton wines are currently available from several Virginia and Missouri wineries.
