Pirtle Winery & Spirits

Pirtle Winery & Spirits In July of 1978, the Pirtle Winery was established in historic Weston, Missouri. Presently, we are a small, quality-oriented winery; this allows us to give a great deal of personal attention to our wines. We believe this attention to detail is why our award-winning wines can hold their own against others from the US and around the world. Our winery building is in a former Lutheran Evangelical Church that was built by German immigrants in 1867. Wine production takes place in our press house, which is on the bottom floor of the building. Our tasting room and store are on the second floor, and a vine-covered wine garden is between the winery building and press house.

Directions
From Kansas City, take I-29 North to Exit 20 and follow the signs to Pirtle Winery.

Products

  Apple Wine
Made from locally grown apples, we mature our apple wine in used brandy barrels. It is excellent with smoked, spicy or barbecued food.
  Blackberry Mead
Made from honey and blackberries, this is a great dessert wine; perfect to sip after dinner, or serve with your favorite cheese and fruit. It is moderately sweet and should be served chilled.
  Chambourcin
A medium-body dry red that is well balanced and slightly oaky. Related to Pinot Noir, it has an excellent bouquet - with the same outstanding flavor and aroma.
  Mellow Red
A soft, fruity red with lots of great flavor and aroma; a customer favorite since we opened in 1980.
  Missouri Mead
In the style of the late harvest wine, excellent before or after dinner, served with your favorite fruit and cheese.
  Missouri Norton
Premium dry red, from our own vineyards. Excellent bouquet, well balanced with a hint of oak. Great with beef, veal, or pasta dishes.
  Premium Port
Pirtle Premium Port is an outstanding dessert wine produced from a blend of perfectly ripened Chambourcin and Foch grapes. This moderately sweet wine is perfect after dinner.
  Raspberry Mead
Made from 94% honey and 6% red raspberries, this blush-style mead is made from the finest honey and raspberries available.
  Seyval
This white wine is dry, crisp, home grown in our vineyard. One year in oak. Superior.
  Sparkling Mead
An elegant champagne version of our favorite mead, it has won numerous awards and is my personal favorite of our wines (E. Pirtle.) This mead is perfect for festive occasions, served with cheese and fruit or with lighter desserts after dinner.
  Weston Bend White
Grown locally, this white wine (reminiscent of Gewurtztraminer) is light, fragrant, fruity and semi-dry; very good for sipping on its own or with light foods and appetizers.
