Bethlehem Valley Chardonel

Bethlehem Valley Chardonel Wine Details
Price: $17.00 per bottle

Description: Graceful and smooth, Bethlehem Valley’s sixth release of Chardonel is well balanced between fruit and barrel flavors. Very approachable and easy to pair with fresh foods, breads and lighter fare, this wine will fill your pallet with pear and light cream. The two-acre vineyard of Chardonel is on a wide spacing to maximize air movement, which also reduces disease and mildew problems and has reduced tonnage to maximize flavor.

Varietal Definition
Chardonel:
Chardonel was developed in New York State, to be a late-ripening, highly-productive, cold-climate varietal. A cross of Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc, Chardonel is proving its value in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest states. Given much of the same treatment as Chardonnay, it adapts well to barrel fermention, and controlled lees contact. The result is often a full-bodied dry wine, high in alcohol and acidity, with a similar, if less pronounced character than Chardonnay.
