Description:
The initial aromas as one approaches this wine is one of Raspberries. This lively fruity white wine is a unique blend of early harvest Viognier and Rkatsiteli, a Russian varietal. A taste of apple tones can be sensed, but the wine finishes with a taste of apricots. This light and fruity flavor combined with a 4% residual sugar makes it a great sipping, or
patio wine. The hotter the weather the better it tastes!

Varietal Definition
Viognier:
The most acclaimed white wine grape from France's Rhône Valley, Viognier is a highly aromatic varietal, with a flavor profile that could include peach, apricot, nectarine, lichee, musk and flower blossom. The heady perfume of this varietal is one of its trademarks, although its flavors are sometimes problematic in matching with food. However, it does well with lobster, crab and moderately flavored fish. Use it as an apéritif as an alternative to Chardonnay. The "Rhône Rangers" in California have done an excellent job promoting this varietal.

Rkatsiteli:
Widely grown in eastern Europe, this ancient vinifera reputedly originated in the Caucasus Mountains bordering Armenia and Turkey. Planted on small acreages in the Eastern U.S., mainly in the Finger Lakes region of New York state. Makes noticably acidic, balanced white wine with flavors somewhat reminiscent of a spicy Gewurztraminer and Johannisberg Riesling blend.
