Moonlight White

Moonlight White Wine Details
Price:

Description: A blend of 60% Illinois Cayuga blanc and 40% Illinois Vidal blanc. Cayuga lends brightness and crispness to the blend, grapefruit, melon and peach, apple and pear fruit flavors, poached pears, mead flavors with a zippy lemony finish. Vidal lends fruit intensity, body and structure – with hints of juicy oranges and tangerines. Enjoy the vibrant youth of this wine – its light, crisp sweetness gives Moonlight White a pleasant, approachable experience as an aperitif. Its firm, supple acidity makes the wine intriguing and enjoyable with a wide variety of foods. Try with simply sautéed or baked whole fish, chicken, tuna and vegetable salads, roast chicken and pork tenderloin. Just about any cheese you like will surely taste better “by the Moonlight.”

Varietal Definition
Cayuga:
A hybrid cross between the Johannisberg Riesling and Seyval Blanc grapes. Makes a fruity white wine of mild intensity somewhat similar to Aurore. Widely grown in the Finger Lakes region of New York State and other cool regions of North America.
Vidal Blanc:
A white French hybrid once widely planted in the south of France, it is more suitable for growing in warm and humid climates like the South. These vines are prolific, producing large golden berries, suitable for eating out of hand as table grapes. When vinified, Villard Blanc makes a fruity, mildly intense white wine (somewhat Sauvignon Blanc like) of fairly neutral and simple flavors. Primarily used for blending.
